Start with the goal and the season

Choosing a blend is less about the lawn type and more about what you are trying to do, and when. Here is how the main ProPeat lawn products line up across the season.

.37% Prodiamine — spring pre-emergent

A pre-emergent for early spring that stops crabgrass and annual weeds before they germinate, with roughly 90 days of protection. This is your season opener, applied before soil temperatures reach the mid-50s.

17-0-4 — summer feeding and color

A nitrogen-forward feeding blend for the active season that delivers even color and soil conditioning with a lower burn risk, thanks to the peat carrier. This is the workhorse summer feeding in our program.

10-0-10 with Iron — fall winterizer

A late-season blend built for root strength, winter durability, and color retention. The potassium supports cold hardiness and the iron keeps color late into fall.

N-Less Green — color without extra nitrogen

A specialty option for adding color and quality when you do not want to push more nitrogen growth — useful when the lawn has had enough feeding but you still want it to look its best.

Still not sure?

When in doubt, a soil test removes the guesswork, and we are glad to recommend a blend based on your lawn, your goals, and the time of year. There is no single “best” blend — only the right one for the job in front of you.
